This showcase presents Members with a selection of items, some of which are elegant symbols of belonging to our Society, becoming a kind of “Mark of the Chemist” — fortunately far less cruel and painful than the one described by Primo Levi.

The items featured here are also particularly suitable as gifts for conferences, welcoming international guests, and award ceremonies.

Section Presidents, Division Presidents, Thematic Group Coordinators, and individual Members may request customised versions of the official Società Chimica Italiana merchandise for events they organise.

IYC 2011 Commemorative Stamp

On the occasion of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) promoted the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp, shown in the accompanying image (original design by SCI member Giorgio Cevasco).

The stamp, featuring the SCI logo, was issued on 11 September 2011, coinciding with the opening of the 24th SCI National Congress in Lecce.

The official information bulletin issued by Poste Italiane for this commemorative stamp is available here (in Italian).

A complete philatelic kit, including the commemorative stamp, the information bulletin, an envelope bearing a first-day-of-issue postmark, an International Year of Chemistry postcard with a special cancellation, and additional philatelic materials, is available exclusively to SCI members, with a contribution towards expenses of €20.00.
