The governing bodies of the Società Chimica Italiana (Italian Chemical Society) are the President, the Executive Committee and the Central Council.
The Sections and Divisions are also headed by a President and a Governing Board.
The Society organizes numerous conferences, courses, schools and seminars at both national and international levels.
To promote chemical science education in schools, it annually organizes the Giochi della Chimica (Chemistry Games) for upper secondary school students, the Giochi di Avogadro (Avogadro Games) for lower secondary school students, and the Giochi di Cannizzaro (Cannizzaro Games) for primary school pupils. The Giochi della Chimica allow young people to test their knowledge of chemistry and compete for selection to the national team participating in the International Chemistry Olympiad.
The Society carries out significant publishing activities, jointly publishing internationally renowned scientific journals with other European chemical societies. It also publishes La Chimica nella Scuola and La Chimica e l'Industria, the Society's official publication for news and information.
Our mission extends beyond national borders: the Società Chimica Italiana (Italian Chemical Society) plays an active role in the global scientific community, fostering dialogue and cooperation among chemical societies and research institutions.
Further information is available in the dedicated International Relations section.
