The SCI's Thematic Groups were created to foster dialogue and collaboration among members active in transversal and interdisciplinary research fields. They bring together expertise from multiple Divisions and focus on emerging topics or those with high scientific, technological, and social impact.

There are currently 20 active Groups, covering a wide range of interests. Each Group coordinates conferences, publications, and initiatives aimed at stimulating research and discussion on strategic topics for the future of Chemistry.
