EuChemS has renewed its Executive Board, the body responsible for managing the scientific, educational, and professional activities of the European Chemical Society.
The election partially renewed the Committee, replacing some members who had completed their terms — including our member Nicola Armaroli — and introduced new ones, among them the President of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI), Gianluca Farinola, who received the highest number of votes among the participating chemical societies. The Committee also includes Francesco Peri, serving as the representative of the EuChemS Divisions.
This appointment continues Prof. Farinola’s long-standing involvement with EuChemS, where he chaired the Division of Organic Chemistry (2018–2021), after serving as secretary and treasurer (2014–2017). As President of the SCI, he has represented the Italian Chemical Society in the EuChemS General Assembly and now strengthens this commitment by joining the Executive Board.
EuChemS is currently chaired by Prof. Angela Agostiano, former President of SCI (2017–2019), further demonstrating the prominent role that the Italian chemical community continues to play in the European scientific landscape.
