For his creativity and ability to combine the field of chemistry with those of pharmacology and molecular biology, for the major impact his work had on biomedical research and therapeutic development (in particular in the field of GPCRs), and last but not least for his great contribution to the human and professional growth of several generations of young researchers of the Italian medicinal chemistry community.
